Since 1994, we’ve helped thousands of students to achieve outstanding results and join some of the world’s best universities. We are recognised as one of the best places in the UK for international students to live, learn and thrive.
Our versatile foundation programme is recognised as one the best of its kind available anywhere in the UK. The course structure is modular, meaning you’ll be assessed throughout the year and receive a final score marked out of 100%. We work closely with the UK’s best universities to ensure that the course content is relevant and offers a much wider range of progression opportunities than most foundation courses.
As a foundation student, you will receive full board accommodation in one of our Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ rated boarding houses.
All of our boarding houses offer breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week. We offer single and twin room options for students, together with communal social and study areas. All boarding houses provide fast Wi-Fi included in the boarding fee.
Rooms are cleaned on a weekly basis, with fresh linen and towels provided, and we offer on-site laundry. House parents live in with students, and all boarding houses are secure sites with controlled access, CCTV, secure bicycle storage and on—site security 24/7. Fun weekend and evening activities are organised by our boarding team.
We offer more than 50 extra-curricular clubs and activities each week. Taking part in clubs is a great way to meet new friends and expand your horizons. They also allow you to develop and demonstrate a broad range of interests outside of your studies, something that all top universities look for in applicants.
Sports take place every week, both on and off campus. Sports and fitness classes regularly available include football, basketball, badminton, swimming, netball, yoga, running, dance and circuits. Competitive fixtures against other schools are organised throughout the year.
We work closely with UK universities to ensure that our foundation pathway remains relevant, up-to-date, and continues to offer the widest range of progression options for international students.

Our college community is made up of eight houses, with each member of the school (Staff and students) becoming a member of a house. Abbey houses are all to do with pride, friendship, team spirit, and competition. The passion a student develops for their house is at the core of our outstanding pastoral care.
Your personal tutor will be an experienced member of our teaching staff, who will provide support throughout your studies. You’ll meet with them daily as part of your tutor group, and then weekly and termly for in-depth personal guidance and feedback sessions.
We run weekly ‘Abbey Inspires’ academic evening lectures and workshops, where students can learn more about and explore topics related to their subjects that aren’t covered by the traditional syllabus. Having this higher level knowledge provides you with a real advantage when it comes to making your university application.
